    • The only reason , why I went to Taipei, was, that the famous Palace Museum is located here.

    The Museum contains around 720,000 items, but can only display 15,000 at a time in a three-month rotation. It would take 12 years to see the entire collection.

    After a long history of being brought from Beijing to Nanjing and back again, the collection was finally brought to Taipei toevade the communists.

    As all items have been packed into more than 700 crates you'll find mainly small things in the exhibitions like porcelain, jewelry and calligrafy.

    • On certain days and times there are guided tours for free in the museum.

    I was very lucky, because, when I went for one tour i was the only one, so I had a very nice and competent girl showing me the museum and answering all my questions just as I wanted.

    • Taipei has a lot of night-markets. The one I went to was full of small restaurants selling snake. Many Chinese Men eat snake, because they think, that snake helps them performing better with their wifes.

    For many Chinese men it is also a sensation to see, hwo the snake is killed.

    • There are many Buddhist temples in Taipe and also other temples. I don't remember, where I took this photo. It is inside a Buddhist temple.

     Went taipei 4 yrs ago for a short trip... didn't like the place apart from the national palace museum... one of the best museums I'm been to. Impressive collection. going taipei again for work next week... hope will have better impression of the city
