The Hudson River Valley is really a fantastic tourist destination. It is well know to the folks who live in New York City or Boston as a place to get away for the weekend. But it seems to be not so well know for the international tourist. This was in fact the tourist destination of America’s first mega rich. It was the weekend home of the whole school of Art and literature know as the Hudson River School for example started doing there new Romantic style of landscape painting inspired by the views on and around the Hudson in the 1820’s. The very first American Mountain resort, Catskill Mountain House, was built in the Hudson Valley in the 1820s. There is so much to do an see that the Hudson valley has been named a “National Heritage Area” along with 26 other special Heritage Areas in the USA.
