    • Restaurant Name: SV Mnuw Restaurant - Manta Ray Bay Hotel

    The SV Mnuw Restaurant and the Crows Nest Bar at the Manta Ray Bay Hotel is very nice it is a 100 year old “south seas teak Schooner that has been nicely redone as a restaurant. PLUS they have their own micro brewer, Stone Money Brewing Company, the only one in Yap with very good beer done in the German style of the old colonial overlord that is right this place was German before WW1


    Favorite Dish: The food is quite good in fact it is sort of European Asian with a local flare.

    I liked the local crab from the mangrove swamps cooked up in a very taste local hot sauce made with local spices plus tapioca.

    • The Veranda View Conservatory Restaurant Is made out of the old Japanese WW2 observation bunker. Yes your eating on a veranda in an old bunker looking over the main approach to the Island and the Yap Lagoon. The whole thing is really very well done and a beautiful view for sure. This is the posh end of dinning on Yap for sure it has live classical music real linen and very fancy service. When I was their they had Yapese dancing it was very nice.



    Favorite Dish: Wahoo is a non fishy and delicious game fish. If the Wahoo is really fresh it is great as sashimi with just a little wasabi added. Also they make it up with dill, coconut milk and curry. I think it made the best fish and chip I have ever had as well.
