This was a destination of choose before the Jet set had jets --than it was by private railroad cars. It has the “only 5 star 5 diamond” resort hotel in the USA, the Broadmoor Resort. With the United States Air Force Academy, Manitou Cliff Dwellings, Garden of the Gods, Cave of the Wind, Bristol Brewing Company, Seven Falls, Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center and nearby Pikes peak.

Spectacular scenery indeed. And yes, you had my attention with the geology info! You also had me with the Pikes Peak story - saw a brilliant short years ago, the WRC Peugeot with one of the top rally aces absolutely storming up, filmed from a helicopter.
