I have gone to Raleigh off and on throughout my life. Occasionally, Grandma would need to go to Crabtree Valley Mall and take me along because I was too little to stay home alone and I had no friends my own age with whom to stay.
On Saturday, 14 October 1978, my parents, Grandma Atkins and I went to the North Carolina State Fair. That was a fun time for this 9-year old kid.
Most recently, I passed through Raleigh on the way to and from my trip to Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay. By far, Raleigh was the cheapest point from which to start the trip. Luckily, I have an old university friend who lives in the area. Gary generously offered to put me up for the night. |
