On Labour Day (2 September), 1996, Clint, Natasha and I made the hour trip from Chino Hills to Valencia, CA just north of Los Angeles to visit Six Flags Magic Mountain. Most of these parks open at 9 am, so we got up with the chickens to be there on time, but this one opened at 10.
Magic Mountain was built in 1971 and it was eventually bought by Six Flags in the late 1970's. Just from the entrance, the rides seemed to make anything I had ridden before look like a kiddie ride.
For the most park, the themed sections of the park have a decidedly California flavour.

volopolo Mon Sep 1, 2008 11:13 UTC I like the name of the place: Valencia. Never hear it before in US. Some nice tips here. Thanks Nat for your e-mail! | kenyneo Sun Apr 20, 2008 06:17 UTC Oh no ...getting a little dizzy with all the roller coaster ..the name Valencia gave me the impression of Tuscany in Italy or maybe a small town of Spain ...lol ...not a fan of all these high tech gadgets | Ewingjr98 Mon Mar 12, 2007 03:54 UTC It was a shame to see Valencia get taken out by that nuclear bomb in the TV show "24." Hopefully the amusement park survived. | lmkluque Wed Jun 29, 2005 16:39 UTC This--IMO--is the best way to experience those rides; reading about them! Seems you CAN sleep anywhere Nat!! |
