This is one place I visited 2 years in a row. The first time was part of that 1986 whirlwind tour which started in Amsterdam, through Germany, Switzerland, France, and England. Our hotel (the Rütli) was downtown and everything was within walking distance. The second year, our hotel in Giswil was some 30 miles (50 km.) from town. I especially enjoyed the Swiss folklore show. I tried the alpenhorn like you see on those Ricola cough drop commercials, but, believe it or not, folks, I didn't have enough hot air to do the job. I enjoyed both turns at Lucerne because the people were very nice and the scenery was beautiful.

Nice tips on Lucerne - did you really like the fondue? Good tips on packing on your homepage - that with the return mail I have to tell my friend. Its a real good idea!
