I spent approximately a month in Nice, France (3-26 July, 1989). I studied French at the Faculté des Lettres for a study abroad programme. We had class from 8.30-12.00 on most weekdays (except Bastille Day). After noon, we were on our own. Instead of going on tours organised by the school that would have taken me to art colonies (which I find uninteresting), I made my own tours to the beach or around town. Really, when you think about it, I got more practical use of my French interacting with real folks rather than doing like some folks in my group (speaking French in class, but English everywhere else). Because it didn't occur to me take travel journals until 1991, I don't have much specific information on where to go and where to eat, etc. because I only remember the names of very few places. |

| Pros: | "Fine weather. Ocean breezes keep it milder in the summer and it has some of the most moderate weather in the winter." | | Cons: | "All those hills and the stones on the beach take some getting used to." | | In A Nutshell: | "Nice is a nice place to study or make holiday." |

I would love to do that ;-) | deecat Sat May 7, 2005 19:01 UTC You are one lucky guy, Nat, to have been able to travel and study, making new friends along the way. So kind of you to mention Brad's Dad. Another superior page, which I always enjoy. | easyoar Tue Mar 15, 2005 23:45 UTC Nice page Nat! As to the police in Monaco, I believe they have the highest ratio of Police per population anywhere in the world. I managed to drive through a red light there once, and was stopped before I had even managed to finish going through it! |
