Cancun is great and all, but if you want to visit someplace really cool, take a bus through the Yucatan Peninsula and stop off at two places: Chichen Itza and Xel-ha. This diagram is of the Mayan ruins at Chichen Itza. Taking a bus from Cancun, it will take you 2.5 hours to reach the ruins, but the drive is worth it. You will drive on a long road with speed bumps throughout; they don't want people speeding since the road takes travelers through many small villages. |
