I nicknamed it 'Beppu castle'... Off The Beaten Path (2)

I nicknamed it 'Beppu castle' as it looked like a small one (from outside), but it turned out to be more like a temple... more travel advice

There is also a buddhist pagoda, for me the nicest one among all I have seen in Kyushu! more travel advice

Very interesting & worthwhile tips Ralf, thank you. shame though, that you didn't get to try the hot sand bath at Takegawara Spa.... Just magical, relaxing & rejuvenating
