Yellow Fire hydrants and other Ottawa, Canada Warning Or Danger Tips

These yellow things are called fire hydrants. They are all over the city on the side of the streets. Marked with yellow flags in the winter time so firefighters would see them under the snow.

DO NOT park near them! You will get a big parking ticket. You have to stay five meters clear from the hydrants.

I know this might sound silly but folks who are from other places and not used to the ice & snow presense can fall or get injured here.

Here, on this sign you can see a warning. This is one of the Crystal Garden's entrances. Enlarge the picture and read it. Just be careful and watch where you step. Try to avoid running and jumping around.

Rules of the Road, not only when you drive but also when you bike or walk. In order to preserve and protect our environment and practice common courtesy, we have to obey these rules and regulations.

This is not a danger tip. More like a warning or advise. No translation needed to understand Canadian signs. These two signs are located at a park entrance and tells you not to bring in pets or leave your bicycle out of this place. The sign at the left also indicates how much is the fine going to be in dollars once caught breaking the law. Please watch for these signs as you walk, bike or even drive. Ok, Here is something you have to remember when partying in downtown Ottawa. The Police is not sleeping, They are everywhere and watching and looking for troublemakers. Some folks think they can do and say whatever they want because all the party that?s going on in downtown. Also keep in mind, calling the Police is very easy in Ottawa and does not cost anything. Just call 911 from any phone in case of emergency. Police in Canada in genera is not corrupted, so don't even try bribing them with cash!
