20 Jul. 2001 Flamingo opens a new store in Oradea
On February 21, 2001 Flamingo announced the complete take-over of the activity of two IT Romanian companies in partnership, one of these being Head Computer SRL from Oradea. The take-over took place following the request of the companies' shareholders and managers. Flamingo took over not only the activity of these companies, but also the after-sale obligations of these companies towards their clients, ensuring this way the continuity of the products and services offer and the satisfaction of all the clients. All the employees were also taken over by Flamingo and the managers of these companies were given similar management positions in Flamingo staff.
11 Jul. 2001 $20.5M in Turnover in the First Term of 2001
Flamingo Computers has achieved $10M in turnover for the second quarter of 2001, representing a 56% growth compared to same quarter of last year. For the first semester of 2001, Flamingo achieved $20.5M in turnover, representing a 51% growth compared to the first term of 2000. The main activity of the company has been IT distribution for the first term of 2001, accounting for 66% of the total turnover. Retail activity has also registered a 50% growth compared to the same period of 2000, while Flamingo PC production has registered a 62% increase and surf.ro, the ISP service offered by Flamingo Computers, has also registered a growth of more than 100% compared to the first term of 2000. 20% of the total figure represents IT exports in Eastern European countries.
10 Jul. 2001 The First Flamingo Subsidiary in Western Europe
In Alblasserdam, Holland, Flamingo International has innaugurated its newest subsidiary, the sixth outside Romania and the first in the European Union. Flamingo Computers Holland B.V. is incorporated in Holland and integrally owned by Flamingo International S.A., a company founded with private Romanian capital, being one of the few 100% Romanian investments on the Western IT market. Flamingo Computers Holland B.V. has its headquarters placed in an industrial park in Alblasserdam, in an excellent area for logistic consolidation, considering the proximity of Rotterdam, Dordrecht and other cities with strong logistic activities in Holland.
01 Jul. 2001 Flamingo to Offer a New IT Service: 0800-CALLPC
Flamingo Computers opens for the first time in Romania a free information service center for details about products, service and IT solutions available for the entire country. 0800-CALLPC or in numerical transcription for 0800-22.55.72, a Telverde kind of number, this new IT service offered by Flamingo Computers being the result of the company co-operation with Romtelecom for the free 0800 phone lines promotion.

On the occasion of reaching 1 million hits, Flamingo will offer 1 million minutes of free Internet access to the visitor number one million, meaning more than 2 years of permanent Internet access! This prize will represent a symbol of appreciation that Flamingo Computers has for its clients and for the visitors of www.flamingo.ro. Started in 1997, the www.flamingo.ro web site revived in 1999 through a complete redesign and announced 300.000 hits in Jun. 2000. Only one year after that event, the web page hit counter passed 960.000 hits, being close to reaching 1 million hits.
04 Jun. 2001 3Com and Flamingo Sign East European Agreement
3Com Europe Ltd. and Flamingo International S.A. announced today the new regional East European agreement for distribution of 3Com products in Romania, Bulgaria, Macedonia, and Albania. The agreement is effective as of Jun. 4th, 2001.
20 May 2001 Flamingo Hungary Attended to INFO 2001 Budapest
Between the 8th-12th of May 2001, Flamingo International has attended, through its Hungarian subsidiary, Flamingo Computers Hungary Kft., to INFO Budapest IT expo, the most important IT exhibition in Hungary. The attending to the Hungarian IT event is connected with the IT distribution activities that Flamingo has started last year by the incorporation in Sep. 2000 of a subsidiary in Hungary, with the headquarters in Budapest.
19 May 2001 Flamingo Computer Show, a Real Success!
Between the 8th and the 12th of May 2001, Flamingo Computers has organized, at World Trade Center, the first edition of an IT event entitled FCS - Flamingo Computer Show. This event, the most important IT event yet to be entirely organized by a single Romanian IT company, was based on two directions: the IT&C fair in World Trade Plaza and a conference program organized in the Seoul&Mexico halls in World Trade Center.
18 May 2001 Flamingo Macedonia Celebrates One Year
The Macedonian subsidiary of Flamingo International, celebrated one year since its opening on the 18-th of May 2001. In quite a short time, Flamingo Computers Macedonia Ltd. forced its place on the local market, by distributing the full range of products in its portfolio to the local resellers, at competitive prices and by providing quality services. Flamingo Macedonia proved to be one of the most active local distributors and the only real broadline distributor in this country.

10 Mar. 2001 Flamingo - Hansol Distribution Agreement
Flamingo International S.A. and Hansol Europe Ltd. have announced the signing of a reginal agreement for distribution of Hansol monitors and TFT displays. Hansol is one of the largest Korean industrial conglomerates, and its Hansol Electronics division is among the first three monitor manufacturers in South Korea.
22 Feb. 2001 Flamingo extends its distribution and retail network
By incorporating the activity of two partner companies, Head Computers SRL in Oradea and Iris Computer Intl. SRL in Bucharest, Flamingo Computers has extended its IT distribution and retail network in Romania. Flamingo Computers will take over the activity of these companies, and post-sale obligations, thus effectively providing the continuity of the product and services offer, and maintaining customer satisfaction.
19 Feb. 2001 RoadShow "Future PC Technology
On Feb. 19, in the Conference Hall of the Athenee Palace Hilton in Bucharest, Flamingo International has hosted the first stage of the "Future PC Technology" East European tour. The roadshow, initiated by MicroStar International with participation from AMD, NVIDIA and SEAGATE, continues in Budapest on Feb. 20 and closes on Feb. 22 in Prague.

ATI Technologies Inc. and Intel Corporation have reached agreement on a broad cross-licensing agreement, granting each company rights to patents owned by the other. This will help ATI and Intel to incorporate new features and technologies into their products, and will permit ATI to build the RADEON™ technology into chipsets for Intel's microprocessors.

Flamingo Computers is ranked 106th among the private Romanian Companies in the top 200 published in the 20th issue of BIZ magazine. The ranking takes into account the revenue for 1999 of all private Romanian companies, regardless of their activity, number of employees or other ranking criteria. Flamingo is also ranked first among IT companies in this chart.
29 Dec. 2000 Recognition for Investments in Giurgiu Free Zone
The administration of the Giurgiu Free Zone has granted Flamingo Computers with a Excellence Diploma as a recognition for major investments in the area in 1999 and 2000. Flamingo Computers has a logistics center at the highest standards, including warehouse space and parking for the vehicle fleet occupying a 2000 sq. m. area, to be further extended in 2001.
22 Dec. 2000 Official Inauguration of Flamingo Headquarters
On Dec. the 22nd a triple event took place at the new Flamingo Computers Headquarters: the anniversary of 6 years since the Company was founded, a Christmas party and the official inauguration of the new Flamingo Computers Headquarters, located in Bucharest-Otopeni, DN1, 44-48 Bucharest Road. The new Headquarters occupies about 8000 sq.m., including offices, a logistics center, service point, warehouse space and a PC assembly hall, a parking lot and auxiliary spaces - a $3M investment.

After entering the Croatian IT market three months ago, Flamingo International S.A. Has incorporated a new subsidiary in Budapest, Hungary. Flamingo Computers Hungary Kft. became operational this Sep. and ensures the distribution of a wide range of IT products on the Hungarian market.
