Pick-Pockets: Keep a hand on your wallet
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • I keep my wallet in my front pocket and keep my hand in there with it. Better to be safe than sorry.

Warnings Or Dangers: Don't ride the RER from Charles de Gaulle
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • I've heard that thieves work this line because they know there will be tourists loaded down with baggage.

If you can afford a taxi - take one.

Beggars / Aggressive Vendors: Louis Vitton scam
  • Tip Rating:
  • We were approached by two separate Asian women wanting us to help them buy some handbags at the Louis Vitton store on the Champs Elysees.

I don't understand how the scam was supposed to work but I guess that's the point isn't it. You wouldn't realize you'd been had until it was too late.

They tell you they are not allowed to buy another bag and ask you to do it. If you agree they give you counterfeit money to pay with - you get caught, they walk away! Its a way of circulating the counterfeit money.
