<font size=4><font color=brown>Kalwaria Zebrzdowska owes its existence to Krakow Mikolaj in the year 1600 he commisioned on the mountain of Zarek the building of this fabulous church.

This church was modeled after the church of Golfota in Jerusalem. It has 40 chapels scattered in the mountains surrounding the church.

The Pope John Paul as a child walked the mountains and loved this area. He came to this church many times.

His recent visits were in 1997 and 2002. There is a special monument in his favor.

When we were there, a mass was given in prayer for the Popes health.
