The temple of Poseidon

The sanctuary at Sounio is one of the most important sanctuaries in Attica. It was constructed in 450-440 B.C.

"Sounio Hiron" (santuary of Sounio) is first mentioned in the Odyssey, as the place where Menelaos stopped during his return from Troy to bury his helmsman, Phrontes Onetorides.

I did jump into the ocean here, though from a boat. Tell your friend that the water - in May - was cold and here wasn't much to see on the bottom anyway ;-]

Ohhh the sunsets... I have not been here in 15 years and I had forgotten about the beautiful sunsets to be found.
