Scottish sheep

Prince of Cities

<font color=green><font size=3>Edinburgh is the capitol of Scotland. There are many tales of some truly interesting characters from The Bodysnatchers, Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde, and Greyfriars Bobbie.
<font color=red>Quick note: the author of Harry Potter is from this town. All the books were written from this lovely city.

<font color=brown>SCOTLAND VT MEETING

Ok, ok, ok, these are not the VT members....

I know some peoples fondest memories may be of the city or castle, but mine are of a special day seeing these wonderful Scottish sheep. I have no idea why people take them for granted. They were quite entertaining for me!

:)) Bah! Bah! I just died of laughter when I hear them. I also loved to see the Highland cattle, much different from the Texas Longhorns I am used to seeing.

VT members were louise, grahamt, and myself. Edinburgh is a fantastic city. At the London VT meeting, everyone raved about the city and it took just a instant to see why. Pictures can not do any city justice. We went to the Edinburgh castle, trip to Oban and the Isle of Mull.
Edinburgh Castle

The castle of Edinburgh

This is a city that I love, but it has quite a black past filled with murderers and many famous books from Sherlock Holmes who was born here.

I fell in love with the charm and mystery of Edinburgh, participated in a ghost walk and seeing why the Queen also loves this city. Her royal castle Holyrood is here.
Edinburgh Castle

More about the Edinburgh castle...

It is the most famous of all the Scottish castles. It is the home of the famous Scottish Crown Jewels and the oldest Royal Regalia in Britain.

Displayed with the Crown Jewels is the Stone of Destiny, which was the coronation stone for Scots Kings.

Unfortunately, they will not let you take pictures of the Crown Jewels or the Stone of Destiny. You must see it for yourself.

Pros:"It is the first castle I have been in."
Cons:"It will leave lasting memories for me."
In A Nutshell:"Mystery city with a history hidden under the streets."

Enjoyed your tour of Edinburgh. I, too, love the sheep. Seems as though you had a marvelous time here and enjoyed the scenery and the "royal" environment. Thanks.
