Procession of Dukes - Furstenzug This is the Procession of the Dukes, a yellow wall made of ceramic tiles. I captured a picture of the most Famous Man on the Dresden wall, August II.
<font color=black><font size=4> I found this jewel of a city in my travel brochure. <font color=purple>It was called "The Florence of Germany".
I have been to Florence, Italy and love it!! So, I wanted to see why this city had such charm? I found it to be a much more beautiful city. :o) You must come and compare for yourself.
<font color=black>This is one thing that attracted me and I wanted to see this city because of this yellow wall. This 102-meter mural is on the outer wall of the Stable Courtyard of the Royal Palace. It was painted in 1870-1876 by the artist Wilhelm Walter.
It was originally scratched stucco, but was covered with 25,000 Meissen porcelain tiles in 1906 to prevent any damage.
<Font size=3><font color=blue>I arrived a bright and sunny morning October 13th. I just knew it would not rain on my wonderful vacation in Dresden.
This city is my first steps in Germany, my grandmother came to the USA from Germany and so I wanted to see where she came from. Was it Dresden? I doubt it, who would ever leave this city?
<font color=green><font size=4>My MANY thanks to Ingo (German_Eagle) for showing me his city. |
| | The welcoming man! Sure, I have the famous places, Zwinger, palaces, and pictures of this FABULOUS city.
But, I like entertaining pages, please bear with me as I create my view of Dresden, Germany. |
