Longyearbyen

Bear Warning
Longyearbyen, the largest community on Svalbard, has a population of about 1100 people and about as many snowmobiles. Located in the Advent fjord at the entrance of the Advent valley, this community has an infrastructure fit for a much larger city.
Dogsledding

Dogsleding/sled trip

There is a long tradition of dogsledding on Svalbard. The silence, the teamwork between man and dogs, and the grandeur of the scenery surrounding us, left an indelible impression on our memory.

Isn't that church a great place? We stayed at the 102 as well and enjoyed the food at the Huset just as you did! Great page!

Had to re-visit and see your latest updates. The snowmobiling looks like a blast....what a great 3 days you had. Beautiful pics! Compared to nature we seem so insignificant.
