Helsinki is a city of wide boulevards and a beautiful blue harbor. The city is built on a peninsula, and many of its sights are within walking distance of one another, making it a joy to explore on foot. Although it was founded in the 16th century, most of its architecture is rather modern, and some is even avant-garde. Finns are known for their hip sense of style and design, and this is evident throughout Helsinki -- stroll through any local park or square and you will probably stumble upon an impressive piece of contemporary sculpture. If your tastes run to the more traditional, you can see delightful neoclassical architecture (especially the cathedral and government buildings) in the historic center around Senate Square.
Great Place to visit, Lots to do very interesting people are very nice. Great food. Fashion.
You can also travel to Tallinn by boat or by Helicopter. By train to St Pertersburg. Lots of art, Music sybilus classic lovers folk music Very cold during winter that great when we were there it was (-22C). Not to worry the cristmas market is open daily during month of December. |

| In A Nutshell: | "Finns love fresh air and even in the depths of winter can be found stepping briskly through the parks, around the islands and across the frozen waters of the harbor and lakes." |
