I lived in Santiago for two years and had the great fortune to travel to a few other parts of the country, mostly the south. It was an interesting couple of years and was a great jumping off point for visiting other South American cities and countries. For those used to colorful diversity and the more cosmopolitan cultures in South America, Europe, and yes, even the U.S., Chile can be a bit of a shock, especially for non-caucasian travelers. Nonetheless, it is quite an experience and contains some of purest and most beautiful landscapes I have seen. |
