My back was to the Russian Orthodox church in Vilnius. As you can see, the colors of this city are really soft and so nice to see on these white, wintery days. |
| Gate to Russian Orthodox Church |
| | Gateway to Church of the Holy Spirit The outside of the church looks quite like a typical baroque style Lithuanian church, and unfortunately, we weren't allowed to take photographs inside. Wow, it really was stunning, in vibrant emerald green! |
Church of the Holy Spirit This is the exterior of the Church of the Holy Spirit, a Russian Orthodox church. It has stood here since the 17th century, and was recently renovated. There are well-preserved bodies of the martyred Saints Anthony, Ivan and Eustachius, who are clothed in white during the Christmas period, black during Lent and red on all other occasions except for each June 26, when they are displayed naked. (Brrr, good thing it's summertime!) Supposedly on this day at this place, people feel a magnificent healing presence. | | | Church of the Holy Spirit |
