I was in Colombia again for work, back at the end of March. I love Colombia and Bogota is more of a cosmopolitan city than a lot of people realize. A lot of people think it's hot there, but in fact, it's in the Andes and it is the Land of Eternal Spring! It's mainly mild and even misty or rainy all year. It's very comfortable.
I haven't been very active on VT and I truly haven't had much time to dedicate to updating my pages, but here is the link to my Colombia page which deserves more attention than I have given it: Bogotá Is More Than You Can Imagine
This photo was taken in Bogota, but I was told that this man is from Santa Marta, in the Sierra Nevada of northern Colombia. He is probably the chief of his tribe, maybe the Kogi. Several tribes in the is area have created a website for their organization which was established in order to have respectful relations with the outside world in order to better safeguard and preserve their ancestral territory and cultural identity. The Gonawindua Tayrona OrganizationNext trip? Brazil and Peru! I'm taking off 4 September for two weeks. South America, here I come again!! |
| | My View I live in the coastal town of Sausalito. This is the first town on the other side of the Golden Gate Bridge. Here are some views from where I live...and I live on a houseboat! |
Sausalito Houseboats Here are the houseboats of Sausalito. The houses have character and the people on the dock are relaxed and friendly.
| | San Francisco Bay Living in the San Francisco Bay Area is pretty good! |
San Francisco Marina A boat can take a person anywhere around the bay! Commuting from Marin to San Francisco via the bay is not bad...not bad at all.
| | A Day on the Bay I went out on the San Francisco Bay and watched the outrigger canoe races - our local team won in our own waters! |
Racing in the Bay What a beautiful place to live! Seeing the Bay Area from our bay gives me a whole new viewpoint of where I have lived all my life.
