Salzburg Travel Guide: 2,644 reviews and 6,114 photos
I visited Salzburg upon the insistence of one of my fellow travellers who had taken a day trip there many years ago. This time he got to stay overnight, although we were unaware of a bicycle race the weekend we were in Salzburg, so we ended up staying a bit of a distance from the city center.
The city is beautiful and I enjoyed the history, and of course the Sound of Music sites - The Sound of Music was the first movie my parents took me to see in a theater!
The only thing I didn't like were all the other toursits : )

Because there was a big bike race that weekend, we had a hard time finding a place to stay. We ended up at the Hotel... more travel advice
