rincon is in the west coast of puerto rico. it juts out of the rest of the island like a small penisula; therefore, creating excellent beaches and big waves. actually, rincon is internationally known for surfing. there is really only one "city" in puerto rico, San Juan; the rest are really towns of varying sizes, the nearest one to rincon being Mayaguez. it is a beach community, and like most of the towns in puerto rico, it is laid back and full of beautiful scenery, local cuisine, and vegetation. be careful in the water to surf, bodyboard, etc. unless you know what you're doing.
