Switzerland was my first ever foreign holiday on my own(awwww!) I went to stay with my then boyfriend's father & partners house outside Geneva in a French border village called Ferney-Voltaire. I stayed there for a week, before starting my new job in Munich.
I got a train from Geneva to Munich, which meant seeing most of the main towns in Switzerland, like Lausanne, Bern, Fribourg, Neuchatel, Zuerich, St Gallen and Winterthur before crossing the German and Austrian borders (Lindau and Bregenz). In fact this itinary has to be the most beautiful and scenic train journeys I have ever had. From Geneva to Lausanne, the train goes along the shores of Lake Geneva and on a sunny day, people are out there sailing their yachts. |
