We went to Portoroz as a daytrip from Ljubljana, it was a _very_ close call between Portoroz and Zagreb...but we had a great time in Portoroz. Great weather, great scenery, great music in the stereo, great beer and an even better time!!
Portoroz is on the Adriatic, south of Koper & Piran. It's v accessible from Trieste, Italy. In fact we came across a lot of Italian/"Triestrian" daytrippers in Portoroz, so Trieste obviously isnt _that_ far away. Portoroz is like a stone's throw from the Croatian border and border crossing isnt a big problem.
Unfortunately our time was cut short as my last train back home to Austria was 4pm from Ljubjana! :( So we didnt have time to check out local restaurants & bars |
