A rather smart city with lots of young people and wow the shopping!!! I'd certainly go back there again. My lasting impression of Vilnius is a young, studenty, vibrant city with cheap drink, steep hills and *very* dodgy toilets.
When we got out of Vilnius train station we saw old fat women selling clothes and one of them used this big huge mama of a bra as kind of a basket, full of wares. It had to be at least a G-cup!
We arrived in Vilnius in the 2nd week of our sojourn around the Baltics, around 4.30 am off the nightrain from Riga and stayed for 2 nights.
Vilnius has excellent shopping, Gedimino street is girly heaven :) This street is directly opposite the cathedral in the city centre. Facing the cathedral, going to the right, you will come across the beautiful Vilnius University.
I recommend that you get Vilnius In Your Pocket when you arrive, it's really useful, has excellent reviews & recommendations and cuts out all the crap. |
