we took a bus from Laxey up to Ramsey....we shouldn't have bothered. The views on the coast road were fantastic, but Ramsey town was totally dead. It looked very 1950's, but we left after an hour, we couldn't see anything worth bothering about. (A bit like the time I went to Malmö and left after 3 hours because of sheer boredom!) The main focus of Ramsey would be the fishing harbor and the white-painted iron bridge.
In the guide books, the town is often referred to as "Royal" Ramsey on account of Edward VII spending some time there and it's supposed to be the2nd largest town on the Island....it sure does not seem like it at all!

At Least Do This: It just wasn't our kind of town - these things just cannot be helped. Though I think that if you just wanted a quiet get-away-from-it-all break with some beach/ walking/fishing/golf thrown in, then check out Ramsey.
