Orlikins moves up near Howth

Howth Peninsula
UPDATE: I have recently moved to a house which is en route to Howth, so now I can give the real local view of this lovely picturesque village :)

Howth village is very nice - its about 30 mins from Dublin by DART. It's a fishing village in North County Dublin.

One time, Waoife, Krumel, Suzanne_M & I met up there and we climbed Howth Head, walked back down the cliffs into the village. And of course tried out Maud's ice-cream :)

I took this photo in January 2004 en route to Germany. It was a lovely sunny morning and it was a quiet flight so I thought I would try and take some aerial photos. This is of Howth peninsula in North County Dublin. You can see all along the Dublin coastline. The airport is only about 12 miles from Howth and Howth is often the last part of Ireland you will see from the air when flying towards the UK or Europe.

Howth is often where I take visitors at the weekend.

You can climb Howth Head, walk along the pier and for ?8 take a boat out to Ireland's Eye, which is behind us in the photo. (an island in Dublin bay, not far from Howth Pier)

If there is one thing that you really should do in Howth, it is this: Get over to Beshoffs for fish and chips to take away and eat them out on the pier. I can't help doing this myself whenever I come to Howth. The fish couldn't be fresher and the sea air just makes it taste better. There is nothing like hanging out with your friends on a summer's evening, eating chips and looking out at the boats bobbing in the harbour. If you're lucky, you could even see a couple of seals :-D

I thought Howth to be a very nice place. We went there by Dart, very easy to reach indeed.
