I loved Paris but this was a definite shadow over my time there. Especially in Montmartre and the Gare de Lyon, I was often approached by beggars asking me for money in English. I was usually on my own at the time in broad daylight. Nothing bad happened though when I refused, however I wasnt too happy about being approached like that.
