We visited London in May - June during the Golden Jubilee festivities. One of the highlights was classical music concert at the Buckingham Palace, well, behind the palace in the private park. We like thousands of other visitors, watched the show on a big screen mounted next to the palace. And after the concert the Queen walked out to wave her hand to the madding crowd. I myself am a convinced republican, but I appreciate some advantages of monarchy for the United Kingdom... London is a great city. No matter how long your stay, you won't get bored wandering through London's distinctly flavored neighborhoods. The most famous attractions like Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, and many other places - are within walking distance from one another. And there are plenty of royal parks to make a break. |
