Ventimiglia is a tourist and commercial town on the North Western coast of Italy (Riviera dei Fiori e.g. Floral Riviera) and a very important railway and road junction because of the near French border. It is also an agricultural and floricultural market. The area between San Remo and the French border is one of the mildest in Italy. The wonderful climate favors the growth of tropical and exotic plants coming from all over the world. The route gives the possibility to watch plants, which you cannot watch in other parts of Italy within wonderful natural scenery. The exotic flowers and fruits (just think that it is the most northern place where bananas ripen) will stay forever in your memory. Adding to this you can visit the interesting and unique prehistoric caves. |
