Kinshasa - full of buzz | A woman selling banana in Lodja |
Kinshasa is a typical african city - energetic, vibrant and full of music. But it differs a lot in that you won't find a tourist is looking for like reliable taxis or other transportation, even that the town is full of best cars.
You definitly need some assistance from arriving at the airport till leaving the country. You don't know the rules, so you would face a lot of problems (in the best case with hundreds of dollars as bribes).
If you have this help, you will be happy in this town at "le fleuve" |
| on the way to the River Congo |
| | a typical sunday If you have a car you will have 20 friends and more to share it. The roud to the River Congo was full of cars packed with funny people, singing and living their kind of joy. |
| | in the province Once I arrived in the province I found a city of 100.000 people: Lodja. This place is extremely clean, even with the lack electricity (really a dark night), it's totally safe and very friendly. There is definitly no hotel, no restaurant. I found three places where you can get a beer at night. I never had a beer tasting better - it's just luxury (1,5 USD per bottle; a teacher gets 10 USD a month) |
