In Patpong, the famous street packed with gogo bars, there is a night-market as well. Buy your fake Rolex and Cartier-watches here. If you are are couple or a bunch of girlfriends and you are curious about the erotic/funny shows (you know, the ping-pong stuff), don't hesitate to visit one of the go go bars. The atmosphere in those clubs is very friendly and couples will be seated in the back, so the bargirls will leave you alone, if you want. Soi Cowboy is a lively and friendly street, full of bars as well. To finish this chapter for the naughty boys amongst us, the shortest way to a little romance - excuse me guys, we don't wanna offend the innocent - is The Beer Garden in Soi 7 (daytime) or Thermae Coffeeshop at Soi 15 (nighttime). And yes, you will end up in hell, but at least you had a lot of fun.

Nightlife Spot: Nana Plaza

Nana Plaza is a three floor-building filled with bars and clubs (and a disco at Nana Hotel, across the street). This is mainly entertainment for men. Have a drink at one of the open air bars on the ground floor and when you feel like it, climb the stairs and try one of the clubs. The clubs at the back are usually filled with ladyboys (transsexuals).
If you are a connoiseur you will recognize them and if you don't know what a transsexual is, do'nt you worry, we won't tell your friends.
Woodstock, if it stil exits, is a pleasant music pub, where the girls leave you alone, as the Lonely Planet-guide used to write. Which is funny, 'cause the last thinh you want if you visit Nana Plaza is to be left alone. Nana Plaza is a relaxed place, more relaxed than Pat Pong anyway, allthough some people say Soi Cowboy is even more relaxed (Sukhumvit, Soi 23).
