Pan Pan: Like Italian Food?

Restaurant Name: Pan Pan
If you are into Italian food there is so many places in bangkok to choose from. But here are two restaurants I can recommend. First of all there is the famous Pan Pan-restaurant. They serve proper Italian food. If you like a smaller restaurant, just head for Pat Pong 2 (the smallest of the Pat Pong-streets) and look for Tratoria Da Roberto, somewhere on the first floor.

Restaurant Name: Bobby's Arms and Bulls Head
If you like English food, I can recommend Bulls Head on Sukhumvit, Soi 33/1. There is Soi 33 as well, but you have to take Soi 33/1. It's a pleasant and friendy place and yes, they do serve custard pudding. Phone 02/259 4444. If you happen to be in the Pat Pong-area, believe it or not, but there is a wonderfull British restaurant in the undergroundgarage, called Bobby's Arms. It's located in Soi Patpong 2 (the smallest of the Patpong-streets) and it's a bit of an odd location, but once you are inside, you won't notice that you are underground. There's dixieland every Sunday night. Phone 02/233-6828.

Ban Chiang: Go back in time in this wonderfull Thai restaurant

Restaurant Name: Ban Chiang
If you want to experience Thai food, here’s a wonderfull place: Ban Chiang. Fodor’s guide describes is as ‘an oasis in the concrete city, this wooden house was built around 1915; the decor is turn-of-the-20th-century Bangkok, with antique prints and old photographs adorning the walls.’ The restaurant has lots of small, intimate rooms and there is linen on the tables. The staff is friendly, the food is excellent and the prices are very moderate for a luxurious place like this. For some reason it would not surprise me if this restaurant is sponsored by Thai Tourism Authority. The restaurant is located behind Crown Plaza Hotel. Closest skytrainstation is Surasak (Silom Road) and the adress is 14 Surasak Road. Phone: 02/236-7045.

Restaurant Name: Dosa King
If you like Indian food, there's really many places in Bangkok where you can have a meal. My tip is Dosa King, which serves North and South Indian Vegetarian food. I am not an expert, so I can't tell you the difference between North and South, but it tastes good. And that's what counts.

Yes!: Cuckoo clocks in Bangkok?

Restaurant Name: Yes!
Oh how I loved the diners I had in the restaurant of the German Goethe Institut, officially called Ratsstube. It is like eating in a Bavarian cuckoo clock-museum! Should I see more, besides from the fact that you can eat very well at a very reasonable price. It can be a little enterprise to find this restaurant, unless you happen to stay in the area, but would it be an adventure if it was located on Sukhumvit Road? I don’t think so! But believe me, the trip is worthwile, allthough I do advise you to give them a ring, so you are sure what times they are open. If I remember correctly they open up a seven in the evening.
