Serbian National Theatre

The roots of the Serbian National Theatre reach back to 1861, when, on the meeting of the Serbian Reading-room, held in Novi Sad on July 16 with Svetozar Miletic as a chairman, the decision of founding the Serbian National Theatre was made.

Petrovaradin Fortress Petrovaradin Review

The historic Petrovaradin Fortress is built high on the banks of the River Danube, offering stunning views over the city of Novi Sad. It is an ancient fortress site originally occupied by the Romans, and re-built by the Austro Hungarian Empire to defend against the Turks in the 17th Century.

The Petrovaradin Fortress is also the venue for the Exit Festival which takes place on the 7th - 10th July.

Trg Mladenaca (Wedding Couples Square)

How nice was this, while we was going to the Wedding couples Square there was a lovely couple getting married and having there pictures taken. I decided to keep my distance so this is the only pic of the happy couple.

Matica Srpska is the most important cultural institution of the Serbs in this region. It was established in 1826 in Budapest and moved to Novi Sad in 1864.

The church is dedicated to St. George and its one of the oldest Serbian Orthodox temples in the city.
