The system runs underground through central Newcastle and Gateshead, and above ground everywhere else. It connects with main line rail services at Central Station, and with local bus services and taxi ranks at several points. Many Metro stations have car parks nearby.

rexvaughan Thu Jan 15, 2009 18:11 UTC Nice page on the land of the Geordies, Andy. We have friends in Newcastle, Belford and Alnwick so your page gave me a trip down memory lane. Hope your birthday is great. Wish I was there to buy you a Newcastle Brown. | MikeStarr5 Mon Oct 29, 2007 22:54 UTC Great pic - Thanks. Here in "Barking Town" we have the UK's 2nd largest public artwork called "Holding Pattern" - It's 70m long x 50m wide and almost 6m high. It cost £650,000 to build and only Anthony Gormley's “Angel of the North” is bigger. | David522 Sun Nov 12, 2006 13:28 UTC Sadly this is now a crappy American style diner. Which is nothing like a real diner. great shame as the spanish place was great. | bazant Sat Jul 23, 2005 18:05 UTC maybe it looks impressive and is entertaining but the quality of food leaves much to wonder about. and it's not japanese... |
