Nightlife Spot: Julies 2

One of the longest established clubs in newcastle. Still popular with many. you will often find famous personalities here.
In 1974 Julies was the first club to open in a dilapidated area of the city known as the Quayside. Since then the Quayside has been transformed into one of the liveliest party areas in the country, and now Julies (which had become a little bit of a has-been over the years) has itself been transformed into Julies 2, the classiest, glitziest club in the area. The colour scheme is aubergine and silver (much nicer than it sounds), the bar tops are cool slabs of marble, and the club itself is the epitome cool. Music spans all tastes from 70s to contemporary. And if you tire of dancing yourself you can stand and watch the club dancers strutting their stuff in suspended cages. Happy hour drinks prices operate all night from Sunday to Wednesday, and until 10pm on the other nights. Definitely worth a visit.

Nightlife Spot: Legends

Situated just next to Grey's Monument, Legends is a multi-level club that is a bar before nine o'clock, and afterwards a nightclub proper. It features several levels on which are various bars and dancefloors, with different sounds on each, something that gives a night there plenty of variety, and also means that you can easily escape unwanted attentions. During the week prices are cheaper with a couple of themed nights on offer, but at the weekend it is a pricier and more 'serious' clubbing option.

Nightlife Spot: Ikon

The biggest club in Newcastle, Ikon is a barn of a place. The focal point is the enormous dance floor, surrounded by bars and a balcony where you can either catch your breath or spy on potential dancing partners.

Nightlife Spot: Offshore 44

Offshore 44 is decorated to feel like a ship's chandlers, with ropes, nets, anchors, barrels, and sail canvas dotted around the place. It offers a good selection of wines and beers and is renowned for its reasonably priced cocktails.
