Benalmadena lies on the coast 21 kilometres to the west of Malaga. It has an extensive and attractive marina with unusual surrounding architecture. The well kept beaches stretch for 9 kilometres and there are plenty of hotels and appartments for rent. Two kilometres from the coast, at an altitude of 280 metres, there is an old inner city with traditional houses typical of a white Andalucian village, with narrow and well maintained streets. |

Castle Bil-Bil Ancient remains in the area are from Neolithic, Iberian, Phoenician, Roman and Arab eras. The name of the town is Arabic in origin and means 'children of the mines' in reference to past mineral mining. | | |
