There where small paper notes pushed into the wall. The guide explained that it where from the old times when the Jews only could visit the wall once a week. They would write prayers on a paper an put it between the stones to last the whole week!

The Ethernal Flame Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial Review

I where quite touched by this monument to all Jews that died in the concentration camps. It was an eerie feeling seeing the flame dancing in the dark room with the sunlight coming through the gap between the roof and wall.
