Suzhou is famous for it's beautiful gardens, the Grand Canal and the best silk products. Located along the side of Lake Taihu in the Changjiang River region, and 100 kilometers east of Shanghai, Suzhou is an ancient cultural city built 2,500 years ago. Suzhou is crisscrossed by rivers. Many private gardens built since the Song Dynasty make the city known for classical gardens. In addition, many historical sites are extremely attractive for visitors. Its commerce and handicrafts are highly developed. Zhuozheng Garden, Liuyuan Garden, Huqiu Hill, Hanshan Temple and Institute of Embroidery are Suzhou's main tourist attractions.
