Kyoto, anancient capital of Japan with its 1,200 years of history and culture. Kyoto became the seat of the government in 794. It flourished as the capital of Japan for over 1,000 years until the central government was transferred to Tokyo in 1869.

There are lots of historical structures which worth to visit: HEIAN SHRINE - with its exquisite garden; SANJUSANGENDO HALL - which houses all of 1,001 wooden Kannon statues; and KIYOMIZU TEMPLE - with its 164-foot-high wooden veranda offering a panoramic view of Kyoto.
For more historical interest, please visit: NIJO CASTLE - originally built as the Tokugawa Shogun's residence; GOLDEN PAVILLION - with its gilded structure reflected in a beautiful pond; KYOTO IMPERIAL PALACE - fascinating in nobel simplicity.

From Tokyo Station, 2 hours 15 minutes by the JR Tokaido Shinkansen Line to Kyoto. From Shin-Osaka Station 25 minutes by JR Tokaido Line Rapid Train to Kyoto. From Kyoto Station to Momoyama Station, 12 minutes by the JR Nara Line.
