Jiji Mini Train (chinese: 集集小火車) and other Nan-t'ou, Taiwan Things to Do Tips

The feeder line of Jiji Train starting from Ershui in Janghua to Checheng in Nantou is about 30km high. It was more than 70 years ago when the project was completed in 1921. The scenery along the line is beautiful, full of the field views. The most known spot is Jiji Train Station, which is built of red hinoki-cypress and looks purity. Many tourists like to take pictures here and often take a train to Shuili experiencing the pleasure.

It was called Shuishalian, a biggest natural lake in Taiwan. Puli Brewery was set up in 1917 specializing in producing wines as the tributes for Emperors, because of its clear water quality which tasted sweet. It's been famous for Shausying wine since Taiwan's restoration. This hot spring found since Japanese' occupying period has become well known because of its surrounding mountains and the suitable climate. It's a kind of the alkalinity carbonic acid hydrogen sodium spring, with crystal-clear water, good for health. It's very convenient for visitors to spend the night as many hotels are here. The most famous landscape is Lushan suspension bridge; the left side is the old water source, .the right side the new one. Both have pools for visitors to boil the eggs.

Lingyanshan Temple is the foremost Buddhist ritual site presided by the learned monk, Miulyan Priest. It shows up sheer among the green trees on the mountains. Its front is a tall mountain-door. Go up from Gwanyin pavilion you can see an imposing palace called "Dasyung Precious Palace"; the dedicatory highest Shijyamoni Buddha statue, in it is 15m high; over 10 icons stand at both sides, looking serious. The whole palace is built of red glazed tiles, flying-posed eaves and precious bell. The evening drums and morning bells and the chanting of the Buddhist scriptures around always make people feel peaceful.

You will arrive at the Temple by climbing 365 stairs from the pier in front of the temple. The temple dedicates primarily to General Kuan Yu and also to Confucius and General Yueh Fei. The statues of the divinities in the temple all cast by copper.

The stone-made statue of two dragons is worth appreciating. Mounting the hill behind the Wen-wu Temple, you can enjoy the scene of the whole Sun Moon Lake.
