Restaurant Name: Uludag Kebapcisi
Started out as a small diner back in 1956, Uludag Kebap has become a legendary brand for döner/iskender lovers (fellow carnivores!!).
It has grown into a small chain of restaurants since then with 3 branches in Ankara and 1 in Istanbul.
This one we usually go to is the headquarters in Ulus, the district where the first restaurant was established.
Favorite Dish: Well, the tip title says it but I'll say again: Iskender kebap, of course!! The döner is so thinly and elegantly sliced, and placed on top of fresh pide (pitta bread) with yoghurt, and tomato sauce. They also bring in melted butter in a pan - if you don't suffer from high cholesterol, go on & enjoy it ;-)
