Every traveller knows it is hard to compare the places one has been and name their favourites - for the fact that every piece of land has its unique character, and possess a different beauty.

So you might ask from all the places I have been why I picked this little sample here. Simply to tell you a bit about myself :-)

Here are some of the places I have been, either for a short time or a life-time. Regardless of the duration of my visits, this is a list of all the cities where I feel 'at home'.

Girne (Kyrenia), North Cyprus

Girne Harbour

Well, here is one that is actually home. Girne is a typical Mediterranean town, which has access to the sea and the mountains. And it's one of the liveliest places all year around in my small country.

Istanbul, Türkiye

Sultanahmet Camii (Blue Mosque)

There are tons to say about Istanbul, but this really suffices: everyone has to be there once to experience what a magnificent, breath-taking and sometimes overwhelming this city can be.

Barcelona, Spain

Gaudi's Parc Güell

OK, so simply because in my humble opinion Barcelona is the bigger, more cosmopolitan version of Girne. Just one thing that comes as a bonus is the unique architecture!

Could have been perfect only if there was more sun and clear water.

I love the fact that there is always something going in London - it's alive 24/7.
