A Long Way to Go to Hide Out

The Ultimate Hideout in Lajitas evidently operates on the psychological premise that "since I traveled so damn far to get here, I MUST be having a great time."

The only thing that separates Lajitas from the absolute middle of nowhere is about 3 miles of very bad road.

I am not suggesting that you can't have a great time in Lajitas. You can. But if you're the sort that needs to be entertained, I suggest you remember to pack some recreational drugs.

Big Bend National Park (near Lajitas) and the drive to Presidio offer some spectacular scenary (in the wild, desolate, dangerous looking category).

Bring sunscreen, sunglasses and LOTS of water.
