A travel to Ukraine can be looks odd in the first.
Most of my friends asked me what I have to see there.
Indeed, there is a prejudice of this country.
Most of the people imagine Ukraine as a cold place, with poor people and Coumunists.
I have found that most of it is not true.
Yes, Ukraine suffer from serious financial problems, but (according to the people) this was caused by the revolution and the fall of the Comounist system.
The country is beautiful, full with huge wheat fields, happy hospitable people, and old look villages, where people live as 100 years before ; milking their own cows, using horse as vehicle, and more.
I must mention here, that I visit only in a west south county of Ukraine called Chernivtsi. This area included in what maybe knwon by the name Bucovina.
So, seat down, remove any prejudices you have about old USSR countries, and join me to my travel to land of yellow wheat fields and blue sky. (like in the flag...)

Taxis won’t take you farther than the border gate. The (1) morning bus is filled with Ukrainians going to Suceava’s market w/ all manner of goods (mostly in aisle). By train there is a rather long delay in getting the carriages fitted for Romanian rails.

I was crossing from ROM into UA last year and it was big "Fun"! The soldiers were friendly, the customs lady filled out all my forms (I only speak English & German) and I had NO problems! This year it was even more straightforward!
