La Tierra Olvidada When the conquistadores arrived, carried away by the beauty of the place called it La Hermosa and then it fell into hard times, became Fermosa and finally adapted itself to the name of the island in Asia.. Formosa. Italian and Ucranian migrants and people are genuinely interested in knowing what you are doing in Formosa. There are not even argentine tourists.. and by the response i got from friends and travel agents in buenos aires, this is an area left alone and forgotten by the argentines themselves. Material poverty is evident everywhere.. situation on the western shores of the river parana, within the earshot of paraguayan territory, this must have been a great port a long time ago. right now the busiest traffic is to the island in the river which is paraguayan territory with korean merchants selling cheap chinese goods.. |
