I enjoy the challenge of a "sink or swim" environment -- be that in a startup in Silicon Valley, or traveling to new places. I have never "sunk" and traveling is my way to test my limits and connect with the world in the process. I find it peaceful to be in a foreign land. I find it comforting to hear unfamiliar tongues. I find it joyous to step into an airplane. I find it fascinating to smell and taste the food and fruits that I have never seen before. I find it invigorating to get to know the lives of my fellow human comrads in other countries. And most important of all, I find it very humbling when I am able to make a connection with another human being in this world. I am humbled to know that despite our exterior differences -- in the colors of our skin, in our nationalities, in our languages, in our incomes, in places where we call home -- despite all these differences, deep down inside our fears, worries, joys and passions are the same. Therefore, to me, traveling is the most humbling experience.
I normally travel to two or three destinations outside America each year. I have been very lucky to have visited many places on this planet and I plan to do even more. I believe in a traveler's karma -- that we help each other out. So if you have any questions about places that I have been, feel free to ask.
When I am not traveling I am a business development executive at a hi-tech start-up company in Silicon Valley near San Francisco. I was originally born in Beijing, China. A great and acient city that'll take more than 6 months to know. For the past 20 years I have been fortunate enough to call San Francisco my home.
Peace to our world.
