Slot Machines. They sit there so pretty, beckoning you to just give them a try. They wink at you and give you the promise of untold riches if you will come play for a spell. you should play just for fun. some of the newer slots are really fun.Dont count on getting rich just have some fun. Look around and see how inovative the newer machines are. Just remember if you cant afford to lose you cant afford to gamble!

Star Trek: The Experience What an experience. If you are a Trekkie (or even a wannabe) you have to do this ride. You wander through all kinds of Star Trek TV/ movie memorabilia on your way to the 16 or so minute experience. Part of it is a space flight simulation ride. Very fun. Admission was $24.95 when we went but that was in 2002.

If you like to gamble at all be sure and sign up for the Players Club card at the casino you are interested in gaming. If you do you could earn freebies while you are gaming. Most clubs have you give them your I.D and then they print you a card that you present to the dealers if you are playing a table game such as blackjack or craps. Or if you enjoy the slots or Video Poker you insert it into the machine. The casino will track your play and reward you for your patronage. I have not paid for a room in Vegas since 2000. We have also had some great meals and seen some fantastic shows all for free. OK this does not make up for losing if you do but if you cant afford to lose maybe you should not be gaming :) Or maybe you should gamble less. Another thing is watch for promotions or ask when you sign up at the players club. Sometimes you get freebies just for signing up. Dinners, free slot play, T-Shirts etc.. Have fun and play smart!

This is a computer generated light and sound show that takes place on a canapy stretching over 4 blocks of Freemont Sreet 90ft in the air. They recently did a complete overhaul and added even more lights and a better sound system. Shows are every hour from 8 pm until 12 midnight and vary each hour. It is a must see in my book!

Madame Tussauds is a very unique attraction. While some pepole do not want to spend the money to tour it, I believe it is worth it. This is the first Madame Tussauds in the United States. While only about half the size of the original in London it is still full of great wax works. They do change them so that if you decide to go the next time you are in Vegas you should. I was pleasantly suprised at how much had changed in less then 7 monthes. The cost is $20.95 for adults and $14.95 for Seniors. You can find $5 off coupons for the adult rate in the local tourist magazines. I have put some picture in a travelog.

Thanks to fellow VT'er CatherineCG we finally took the time to check out the Conservatory at the Bellagio. Not sure what took us so long. This is a beautiful oasis and should definately not be missed. They redo the theme for each season and for specific holidays also. Everything is made of flowers or plants or natural fibers. Well of course except for the little train that was running around. :) The intricate details were so unique. One of my favorite things was the garden swing made from rosebuds and the little ladybug trolley. Very peaceful place to drop in and check out. Maybe have lunch at the Cafe just inside. Another place inside of the Conservatory is the Chihuly Gallery. This is the artist who made the fabulous ceiling in the lobby. Another tip.
